I know how pathetic this is gonna sound in advance.

I just desperately need to vent about this because I don’t feel like anyone is really taking this seriously. Because it’s one of those instances where you could immediately be shut down if you talk badly about it.

The Dinsey Remakes.

Not just the little mermaid remake but the entire fucking Disney Remake trend of the 2010s & 2020s.

Now don’t get me wrong. I understand a lot of criticisms about the remakes.

And I even understand the positives.

I can perfectly see why someone would like or not like these movies.

But that’s not my problem here.

My problem is that I’m just done talking about Disney Remakes I’m done with seeing them.

And it’s not just because of the negatives behind them or the negatives that are present in the movies.

But they’re all the same.

Each remake has the same dang problems. None of them are better than any other to me.

I bring this up because I should clarify that I liked these remakes once upon a time. I used to like the Aladdin remake but over time I started liking the movie less and less.

Until I just couldn’t stand it anymore. I just felt bored thinking about it.

And then there was the Lion King Remake. Which is what a lot of people think is the lowest you could go.

I first saw it with my. “At the time GF.” It was the first remake I disliked from the beginning.

And yeah, everything wrong with them is in that movie.

I didn’t see the Mulan remake. But I heard it was simply boring. And yeah, the behind-the-scenes drama behind it being filmed in western China. And the conflict going on with the ethnic Uyghurs out there was just infuriating and heartbreaking to hear.

Whenever you look up reviews of the Disney remakes you hear that they are.

Pointless

Political

Boring

Too Depressing

Heartless to source material

To cover Disney’s Mickey Mouse protection act

Why not remake one of the bad movies?

They got actors that couldn’t act.

They made models that couldn’t express.

Disney just hates animation now.

Disney is afraid of animations stigma.

Disney live action remakes are the “mature adult version.”

Disney trying to look woke and inclusive.

Disney removing the animation doesn’t change what the movie is

And if you have even the slightest issue with anything in these remakes. You’re a racist, a sexist, a homophobic and every other ist and phobic in the book…

And I guess I should also bring up the whole Mickey Mouse protection act issue going on. The big reason why Disney is remaking their older stories is to retain the rights to these works so they don’t get lost to the public domain.

The public domain Disney has already screwed up. Thus, allowing things like Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey to happen.

Notice how many things I listed there. And remember that this has been going on for 15 years at least.

Tell me what exactly is going to be unique about any of these critiques if all of these movies have the same problems?

And yeah that last part really gets me.

How scared do you think I am? Writing this vent at the risk of everyone thinking I’m being racist? Or any other kind of offense?

And you know what happens to fear when it’s constantly unchecked?

Well yeah it detonates with anger. And you ultimately turn into the villain you rally against.

You see my point here?

And because that’s the touchiest part of this rant I’m just gonna stop that here.

My point in all of this is that on some level I feel like I’m not being taken seriously whenever this comes up.

And whatever problem I have realized with the remakes isn’t exactly unique. If anything, my opinions are getting as redundant as the remakes.

And that’s only going to make my fear of not being taken seriously worse.

And this is just one of the many reasons I don’t want to talk about the Disney remakes anymore.

There’s nothing left to talk about.

As for the Little Mermaid remake.

Well do I think it’s gonna be good? Maybe.

I always have faith that something could be good. And if something does happen to be good when I thought it was going to be bad.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

And then of course there’s the whole argument of “needing to see the thing for yourself before you can form a proper opinion on it.”

And yes, that is something I definitely agree with. That is kind of vital.

However, I do think there’s a limit to that. Case and point again, all the remakes have the same problems. When remake 89 has the same problems as remake 16. And every movie between them has the same issue are you really gonna miss much?

And honestly, I know I’m going to get hate for this. But if you don’t like the trailer you don’t have to see the movie either.

I mean a trailer is literally a sales pitch. It’s meant to get people invested.

And now let me immediately redeem myself with my final point in this regard. I don’t think movies should have expectations have based on their company either.

I mean don’t get me wrong it is fun to view it in that light sometimes. And yeah, if you’re used to that company’s way of making things it gives you an idea of what you are gonna get. But that can be a two-way street.

Hence why I think there’s a limit to that as well.

And then. “Don’t rip off someone else’s opinion.” That is important. It’s so important you learn about that in elementary school. I cannot stress how important that is enough.

But again…however! And I’m only going to pose a question here to not come across as a hypocrite.

If I never formed my own opinions from someone else at all. And never took their word for something. And just ignored the critics. What would the point be in anyone at all making a review in the first place?

If you weren’t supposed to listen. A review kind seems pointless don’t you think?

And final and most obvious question. How are you supposed to get better and improve if you don’t accept critique?

Anyways moving on.

What I’m saying is I’m not really enthusiastic to see the remake. And let’s not forget it is ultimately up to me in the end. Weather I see it or not is my decision and my decision has reasons behind them. Reasons that I don’t think I should be shamed for. No matter how many times something says I should be.

And based on those reasons I really don’t think I’ll be missing much.

Look at what people are saying about the Moana remake for instance.

A movie that’s not even ten years old yet. A movie that’s not even out yet.

People have a lot of similar expectations that this remake will fail as well.

I don’t even care about that though. Because again it’s getting old.

So unless these remakes can find a new way to be awful. I don’t even respect them enough to see them in a theater.

No matter how many remakes will be made. No matter how many times they screw up in the same way over and over again.

Something needs to stop man. I’m honestly just getting tired of all the noise…

Sometimes I feel like I should purge some of my work. Because no one seems to care about it anymore. I don't see any comments, and my work only seems to appeal to 8 people rather than the 800 that it used to.

The decline started somewhere around 2018. You know, when everything started to decline...

But it never officially went out of style until 2021.

Favorites? I put descriptions in some of my art that specifically says, "Do not favorite" and nobody listens because they don't care. So if they don't care about descriptions then why would they care about what they're favoriting at all?

Either that or maybe it's just DA's BS Eclipse design. Which is keeping about 80% of my audience from seeing my journals like they used to.

I guess that means I won't actually purge anything. Who knows maybe I just need something else restored. I'm just tired and honestly Idk what else... -_-

So, the DA Eclipse is so screwed up that it won't let anyone see journals or status updates anymore? Let alone notify them?

I guess it's ok in this case. Now that my no vent policy is dead. I guess I can make as many vent journals as I want no matter how harsh they are because nobody will know that I posted it.

Not that it really matters in the first place since everyone usually sees me as a dramatic whiner who always complains about things that don't matter. Cause yeah, the things I vent about don't matter at all apparently.

Yeah that's a way to open this. Thankfully though I don't have to risk what little grace I have going away completely by venting. Unless someone specifically tried to search for this. Not that it would matter considering no one on the internet likes reading walls of text if they even read at all. And if you're on Twitter, may everything forbid you from giving a damn about context.

Heartsy. Just because they've become something horrid. So horrid I have to let them go...doesn't mean I can't remember them for what they were. Not what they've become.

Heartsy: But she was...always bad...

Twilyx360: Heartsy...if it wasn't for her Thorax wouldn't have figured out how to share love freely instead of taking it. And showed that to the rest of the hive.

If she didn't attack canterlot you wouldn't have left the hive. And found your friends.

And Thorax wouldn't have found his friends.

She may have been bad. But in a way she wasn't.

Heartsy: 0-0 Twily? You are sweet you know that.

Twilyx360: I'm just helping you Heartsy. I knew her reformation meant a lot to you. But it didn't happen.

Thorax has been in power for 4 years now. And now you Ocellus and many other changelings are now free to come and go to equestria as you please.

And your friends. Will never stop loving you.
